Infrared Dialer has been successfully tested with PocketPC 2002
The Infrared Dialer is a Pocket Outlook extension that provides support for dialing phone
numbers directly from Pocket Outlook. The tool is especially designed for mobile phones as
it is not using a tone dialing mechanism but utilizes the common infra-red interfaces of
PDAs and mobile phones for dialing.

Currently StrongARM, SH3 und MIPS processors are supported. However, due to the lack
of equpiment, the development and testing took place on iPAQs only. So use on your own
risk on other platforms (and probably drop me
a line with your experiences).
To use this tool your PDA and your phone should have IrDA ports. The mobile phone
needs also a built-in modem. Some older Nokia models have IrDA but no modem built-in.
These won't work.
The dialer version 1.1 introduced a "compatibility mode" which shoul eliminate dialing
problems with some phones. Phones that worked with version 1.0 should turn this mode ON.
Just try both settings with your mobile.

| Installation |
Step 1: Download the installation kit
Step 2: Unpack the archive.
Step 3: Run Setup.exe.
Some notes:
I have not tried the installation on an English PocketPC myself, however, I received
numerous reports that it works as well.
The setup uses ActiveSync to install the program on the PDA.
